Our Christmas 2018
Well friends, I took an unintentional holiday break and so before the clock strikes midnight I wanted to hop on here and document our Christmas this year and wish you all a happy new year because ready or not 2019 is here.
Early in the month our sweet friends surprised us with a yard greeting from SignGypsies Lawrence. Always a wonderful way to wake up in the morning, to a little extra cheer in the yard.
We had breakfast with Santa at my parents church. Brooke was still not a crazy big fan of Santa this year, but this visit we could at least get her to stand close enough to tell him what she wanted for Christmas. Maybe next year she will actually sit with him.
We had breakfast with Santa, again. This time Brooke did not want to be anywhere near Santa, but Emily and Santa shared the sweetest moment. We also mailed our official letters to Santa at the North Pole.
Grace brought home her new ornaments to add to our tree from preschool and they are hands down some of my favorite we got this year. I just love these homemade ornaments nestled in my tree.
We celebrated Christmas with my in-laws and spent a few days in the Springfield area. Our kids were thoroughly spoiled and it was a great few days with grammy, grandpa, aunts, uncles and cousins.
We went to Christmas Eve mass with my family and survived the whole thing with no meltdowns.
We opened presents at my parents house and spent a large chunk of time chasing down the paper trail that led straight to Emily's mouth. Probably the thing I will remember most about this holiday.... was Emily's obsession with the wrapping, not the gifts.
Finally Christmas morning was at our house with my family where the girls opened their Santa gifts along with the gifts we got them. The rest of the day we settled into naps, playing and eating.
To say our kids were spoiled this year is an understatement. Grace's birthday is at the end of January and everyone is always left scrambling for things to get her after the holiday season.
So with that... we look towards 2019 with high expectations.
Happy New Year, friends!
Preschool/elementary school ornaments are my favorite. It looks like you had quite the special holiday. I LOVE the yard signs! :)
